I started a new job in April, and my new team has been in crisis mode till yesterday. That's the main reason I haven't been seen much around here. So here's more detail...
I had applied for a T-SQL Developer position about 8 months ago with my new employer. I was actually their second choice. Their first choice was a total disaster, and put them behind about 6 months. I heard about the vacancy the second time around from a a guy I just had lunch with the day before. The company was very nervous, and put me on contract for April. I was finally brought aboard as full time (FTE) in late May. The team was supposed to deliver 2 projects by January, but the previous hire was a bust and didn't produce anything.
I've been working between 10 to 12 hours a day for the past few months. That includes working on Saturdays. We finally shipped the new intranet/web portal yesterday. Other than a couple minor things, the deployment to live went without a hitch.
I have officially left software development for good (at work), and now I'm a database developer. This has been in the making for the last 5 years. I'm ok as a software dev, but I'm magnitudes better as a SQL Developer.
So anyways, I'm burnt out and will basically be catching up on my sleep. I'm an old guy and need sleep a LOT more now.
There's people working on the code behind the scenes. I've talked with many of you through email and IM. Thank you for all your work and dedication.
I'll be lurking around, as I know many of you do. Laughing

I've had a crazy August. Lots of volunteering at conventions, Hawaii, weddings, and so on. September's calendar is a bit more sane, so I should at least be checking on the forums frequently again, even if I can't get back into the code yet.
