Error 2 The command "C:\Users\inventory\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\WheelMUDSharp\trunk\src\TestHarness\CopyToAppD ata.exe "C:\Users\inventory\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\WheelMUDSharp\trunk\src\..\systemdata\Files"" exited with code 9009. TestHarness

Windows 7 64-bit
Visual Studio Ultimate 2012
Downloaded via subversion, set TestHarness as startup project and ran debug build.

Welcome!

I think 9009 usually means cmd.exe cannot find or run the executable. Can you verify that the following path exists for you:
"C:\Users\inventory\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\WheelMUDSharp\trunk\src\TestHarness"

Then make sure there is a CopyToAppData.exe in that folder. It looks like it's under source control so it should be synced there. If it's there, check the properties of that executable to see if it was disabled automatically by windows. Then try building again.

If none of that works, try elevating to run VS as admin and see if that works.

Please let us know if/how this gets resolved, so we can take appropriate steps to address this automatically for newcomers. We want our newcomer experience to be as painless as possible!

Hi!

I managed to fix this by moving my WheelMud folder to a shorter folder name. (C:/WheelMud) That seemed to fix the problem, anyway. Smile

And welcome to WheelMud!

J3rd,

Did you get your issue resolved?

Post by Karak (06 Oct 2012 05:19 PM):
Actually when reading Pure's comment, I realized the more likely difference of note is that our paths do not have <i>spaces</i>. This should now be fixed with my latest checkin:

Fix new user build failure when WheelMUD source is in a path with space(s).
* The path to the CopyToAppData needed to be quoted for CMD to execute it correctly in this scenario.

J3rd, please sync latest and try building again. Thanks!
